Customer satisfaction with gas & electricity suppliers

How do you find out what it is really like to be a customer with the UK’s gas and electricity suppliers? You ask the customers!

We wanted to make sure you had all the information you need when you compare gas and electricity suppliers. So we commissioned YouGov, one of the UK's leading market research companies to conduct a survey of gas and electricity customers. With our survey results you will be able to get an insight into customers' satisfaction with their current gas and electricity suppliers and read customers' reviews.

YouGov carried out the survey in October 2007. The sample for the survey was carefully selected and controlled so that it was representative of the adult population as a whole. Respondents were members of the YouGov panel and cover all ages, socio economic groups and regions of Britain.

Where we have less than 200 respondents, we do not have sufficient data to provide a statistically valid satisfaction score. This is especially important where we are offering you the opportunity to compare suppliers. A score from a small number of respondents could skew the results for that supplier.

The survey will be carried out and updated every six months, so you can be sure we are using up to date information.
