Who is eligible for home heating cover?
As a homeowner, you’re eligible for heating cover unless you live in a mobile home or bedsit. If the building is used for commercial purposes or has more than 7 bedrooms you’ll need industrial heating cover. Council tenants won’t need this service, and if you’re a private tenant it’s up to your landlord to sort this out.
Are there any exclusions with heating cover?
Your cover normally applies to your boiler but not other parts of your central heating system, or external public service to your property. Your cover will probably not cover the full replacement of your system should it be deemed beyond repair, or any appliances. Check the terms and conditions of your agreement for full details.
What sort of heating system is eligible?
Most plans will have a restriction on the age of the system covered, since there’s a limit to what is economical to repair (since, for example, it might be difficult to find replacement parts). Different suppliers will offer plans for gas, electricity and oil heating systems.
Boiler not already protected?
If you don’t already have cover for your heating, using our heating cover comparison service could help you find the right deal. It’s much better to find a reliable and affordable plan when you have time to think about it – not in the heat (or cold!) of an emergency, especially if it’s at a time of year when services can be in high demand.
