Hull-based Telecoms Company, Kingston Communications has reported a big increase in its broadband customer base and looks set to achieve its targets for this year, a whopping 49% increase on last year’s numbers. This would take their broadband clientele up to 180,000 customers.

Success in both the home market and business broadband have attributed to their success.

Kingston’s flagship broadband service Eclipse won best consumer ISP at the most recent ISPA’s (Internet Service Provider Awards) - the Oscars of the broadband world.

Kingston a former monopoly for telecoms in Hull, now provides telephone, internet and television across the country. They believe that data, video and voice are coming together in the market and are providing services reflecting this transition.

Although Eclipse aims to target medium to small business, it is their consumer broadband which is proving a success.

Kingston believes it is better to focus on customer support and reliability, rather than focus solely on gaining more customers and increase market share – something reflected in their excellent customer retention.

Although Eclipse prices may not be the cheapest, it seems you are paying for quality, and as one industry-insider stated in response to companies offering ‘free’ broadband – “if you pay peanuts expect to get monkeys!”

KC used to be cheap like £17.99 for DSL Unlimited, but now its just money, money, money!

Sky offer better free broadband, Eclipse restrict your speed and dont have out of office hours support....my experience has been very slow speeds less than 0.5meg when paying for more than 2 meg speeds!
