Pipex offer broadband and off-peak calls for less than £9
Posted 18th July 2007 at 2:11pm by Alex Buttle
Pipex have announced today a new deal set to shake up the market, by offering broadband and off-peak calls for £8.95 for 3 months, and £14.99 after.
The Pipexmini offer, which is available for the next two months, also comes with a free wireless router, enabling you to access your internet anyway throughout your home. The offer is subject to a 12 month contract and customers must have a BT line.
"This offer provides a very compelling option for customers," said Dominic Crolla, managing director of Pipex’s residential division. "Recently recognised as a top five provider by Epitiro for customer satisfaction and technical performance, we’re able to give customers the best of both worlds.”

I find Pipex appallingly bad. They insist on me paying them to speak to them! I have a shockingly slow connection and pay through the nose for the privilege. I rue the day I ever went with them.

All these people that slag off BT and then go elsewhere for a cheaper BB - You're alternative is to go with a company that gets bought out either once or multiple times, which then starts demanding you bring your phone line across as well l8 months down the line or be chargd a premuim as well.
Then if you have a problem with their broadband they charge you to speak to them and then say it's not their fault, but is BT's problem and you get chucked from company to company. And once a fault has been decided, its a BT engineer who comes out to fix it as the company you're with doesn't own the line.
In the grand scheme of things, if you're a heavy downloader then I'd say hit up Virgin Media or Be. If you're a bog standard user - just using the internet for emails, surfing, ebay, facebook etc - then you're gonna be well below the 10GB usage limit.
Just stick with who owns the lines, repairs the lines, doesn't change terms once with them, etc. If you've got your line with BT already you may as well get your broadband with them
