Gamers get own broadband

Pipex-owned Freedom2Surf has announced the launch of its new platform aimed specifically for online gamers.
Broadband 4 Gamers (BB4G) has been launched by the UK ISP to provide online gamers with a better experience.
According to the company, its offering will provide gamers with the best pings without any traffic management restrictions.
"We've designed BB4G to minimise ping times with the least number of network hops to connect your PC to the game servers. Gaming traffic to our servers runs at full throttle too with no traffic management and we'll adjust your ADSL line characteristics to switch off interleaving," the company said in a statement on its website.
Freedom2Surf added: "Typically, we see ping times up to 50 per cent lower than standard connections and only two hops between your router and the game server."
In a further effort to tempt gamers onto the new broadband platform, Freedom2Surf is offering an array of games on Wireplay, including the Half Life series.
