Demon improves webspace packages
Posted 19th October 2007 at 11:17am by Alex Buttle
Broadband provider Demon Internet, recently rebranded as Thus Group, has improved its webspace packages in a bid to compete with larger providers.
The ISP has upgraded its free of charge Homepages service to include MP3 and Quicktime streaming capabilities.
The revamped service will also allow users to stream content on their websites, which the firm claims will improve "the visitor experience by "providing rich content while minimising start-up delays".
A further upgrade is a new system of maximising bandwidth allowance through the introduction of function whereby "a user [who] navigates onto a site and realises the information being streamed is not relevant" will find that "the streaming stops as soon as they navigate away - saving monthly bandwidth allowance used".
News of the upgrade to Demon's webspace packages comes as the firm was earlier this month nominated in the category of "ISP of The Year" by MacUser magazine.
