BT media services supplied via broadband are being pitted against rival offerings from well-established industry competitors, according to media reports.

A review featured on Absolute Gadget said that BT's Vision services are now competing for customers with the likes of Virgin Media and Sky's broadband solutions.

The report asserts that one of the benefits of BT's broadband package is that, unlike competitor Virgin Media, it offers a wireless router as part of the service.

Despite being the "new kid on the block", BT's package includes internet television and a landline telephone and is likely to be particularly attractive to consumers who are already subscribing to the company's broadband services, the team at Absolute Gadget conclude.

Meanwhile, it was revealed recently that competitor Virgin Media has been named among the list of finalists for the Internet Service Provider's Awards in the best consumer broadband category.
