AOL Broadband offers no-contract wireless
Posted 6th March 2008 at 11:00am by Alex Buttle
UK internet provider AOL Broadband has announced the launch of a new wireless service with no extended contract period.
The company's Wireless Flexi package is available for £14.99 a month and is capable of delivering speeds up to 8 Mbit per second. There is no cancellation fee and customers can leave at any point after the first month of using the service.
AOL claims that it is the first time such a package has been offered in the UK, combining award-winning customer services, high-speed connections and "unrivalled" flexibility.
AOL's customer support services were voted number one in the UK by price comparison site uSwitch in May 2007.
Vishal Khakhar, marketing director of AOL Broadband, said: "Our new offer means these people and others can now get a fast, modern, broadband service without needing a long-term contract or feeling tied in should their circumstances change or other offers become available."
There is an initial set-up cost of £49.99, but customers are given a free wireless router worth £50 when they take out a contract, which they are able to keep should they choose to leave.
