Be and O2 break the 1000 exchange barrier
Posted 23rd April 2008 at 6:15pm by Alex Buttle
Broadband providers Be and O2 are now providing internet services from more than 1,000 local exchanges, it has been revealed.
According to a statement by Brett Coles, head of member services at Be Unlimited, the addition of 13 new exchanges allowed the company to achieve the milestone this afternoon (April 23rd).
New areas to be served by both Be and O2 include Allerton, Carterton, Cirencester, Knutsford, Letchworth, Newbury, Ponteland and Whickham.
Other recent developments announced earlier this month saw exchanges in Hayling Island, Waterbeach, Farningham, Cosham and Oakley able to deliver award-winning Be broadband.
The company's broadband products - which are advertised as the fastest in the country - have won a number of awards over the years, including accolades from the Internet Service Providers' Association and PC Advisor.
Its ultra-fast 24Mbps service is available for £18 per month with an unlimited usage allowance and free Be Box modem.
For £22 per month, Be offers the Pro deal, which with multiple static IP addresses available is well suited to business users.
At £14 per month, the company's Value package offers broadband services capable of delivering speeds of up to 8Mbps.
