O2 launches 'broadband takeaway'
Posted 3rd September 2008 at 4:00pm by Alex Buttle
O2 has launched a new deal offering minimum-fuss home broadband.
The new Home Broadband Takeaway box can be purchased at any O2 store for at a cost of £30.
It includes a wireless router and simple step-by-step instructions on how to get a customer's home broadband up-and-running.
The initial payment for the box, which also started retailing at the Carphone Warehouse last month, is charged to the subscriber's first home broadband bill from O2.
Commenting on the offer, O2 UK marketing director, Sally Cowdry, said: "Customers told us that they wanted the flexibility to set up broadband in their own time."
She went on: "O2 Home Broadband Takeaway enables this, so they can take a tangible product home and benefit from an unparalleled buying experience for broadband in store."
The product is being targeted at those Brits who want to set up a home broadband connection without wasting time in-store or waiting for the delivery of a router.
