Mobile broadband helps firms care for customers, says BT
Posted 24th December 2008 at 3:30pm by Alex Buttle
The use of mobile broadband can help smaller firms look after customer around the clock, BT has said.
According to the telecoms giant, the ability to connect to high-speed internet while away from the office and on the move can allow businesses to respond to their customers' needs across the calendar and around the clock.
The broadband provider pointed to a study by the Centre for Future Studies, which found that companies able to care for their customer outside office hours had a greater chance of success.
"In these tougher times, patience is no longer a virtue, and customers are constantly demanding more," managing director of BT Business, Bill Murphy, told LaunchLab.
He continued: "Mobile broadband is now regarded by many as a business essential to compete effectively and retain customers; allowing staff to work on the move, just as effectively as if they were in the office."
A recent survey conducted by BT found that most Brits would rather give up their mobile phone than broadband connection during the credit crunch.
