Posted 29th January 2009 at 10:00am by Alex Buttle
Broadband internet users in the Isle of Man will enjoy an enhanced service after Manx Telecom announced a speed boost.
Subscribers will now be able to make use of speeds of up to 8Mb after the investment was made as part of the £25 million Next Generation Network project.
Andy Bridson, the provider's sales and marketing director, explained that the recent upgrades will greatly improve the online experience of broadband users.
He commented: "Most individuals and businesses should find that their download speeds are now faster, making their online experience quicker and easier.
"The amount of material available for download is growing by quantum leaps as more and more people take advantage of the digital revolution to access information and entertainment."
After the completion of the migration to the digital platform, Manx Telecom claims that the Isle of Man will have one of the only completely converged networks in the world.
