PlusNet opens up 24Mb trial
Posted 20th January 2009 at 4:00pm by Alex Buttle
PlusNet has given more of its customers the opportunity to sample the joys of 24Mb broadband.
The provider has originally operated the high-speed internet pilot on an invitation-only basis, but is now asking more of its customers to come on board.
PlusNet has reminded those interested in participating in the trial that a ADSL2+ capable modem or router is needed to access the service.
The ADSL service supplier advised customers: "If you don't have one already, don't worry we'll be able to supply one for £29.99 plus £6.99 postage, alternatively if you aren't already in any contract we'll be able to send you one for free if you're happy to stay with us for 12 months (you'll still need to pay for the postage though)."
PlusNet has issued a warning that there may be some "teething issues" in the process of the trial, which will only be available for those receiving their broadband through BT's new 21CN network.
