Sky has topped the customer satisfaction table in a new study.
The provider scored the highest overall satisfaction level of any company, with 87 per cent of those quizzed saying they are "very" or "somewhat" satisfied with the service.
Broadband Satisfaction and Customer Churn: UK 2H'08, the latest piece of research published by Strategy Analytics, also looked at the factors which prompted broadband subscribers to switch provider.
It was seen that customers were more likely to take up a different offering because it features a higher speed, rather than a lower price.
Analyst and director of the Strategy Analytics Multiplay Market Dynamics service, Ben Piper, said of the results: "The study results underline the importance of speed to the UK broadband consumer.
"This is particularly relevant in light of Virgin's recent launch of its 50Mb product."
Another finding was that the time taken for the installation of a new broadband product was often seen as an obstacle to switching providers.
