T-Mobile is celebrating after sweeping aside the competition to finish top of the table in P3 Solutions' recent speed tests.

Customer experiences were monitored during peak usage time - which in the UK is evening hours - in 16 cities across the country.

T-Mobile mobile broadband connections were found to be 35 per cent quicker than the next best provider, with upload speeds 59 per cent speedier.

"To be ranked number one for two consecutive quarters since testing began in April last year is a significant achievement," said T-Mobile UK's Chief Technology Officer, Emin Gurdenli.

He added: "Our consistently high performance is testament to the fact that we continually test and improve our network to make sure our customers are getting the best possible mobile broadband experience."

According to further findings, T-Mobile customers are able to receive emails twice as fast as subscribers on other networks.
