Vodafone's mobile broadband package has been picked out as one of the best deals on the market.

The Link included the offering as one of its top three mobile broadband services, pointing to the unrivalled speed available on the 3G network in the UK.

According to the mobile phone chain the only factor letting down the option is Vodafone's incomprehensive coverage around the UK.

The Link explained: "Vodafone's extending coverage every day and with average speeds reaching the 4Mb mark, it's still enough to give our landline a good kicking.

"Vodafone has pledged to improve its network even more in the next year, meaning 7.2Mb will soon become the new mobile standard by which all others are measured."

Pay-as-you-go top-ups were recently made available by Vodafone, with mobile broadband customers able to buy 1GB download allowances for £15.

three.co.uk service in my area, Henfield, Sussex, is H.S.D.P.A. 1.5Mbps - excellent service, have tried Vodafone mobile service, best is dial-up speed, same as landlines, so Vodafone needs to improve its service here fast, or I will stop using it, shame as the phone's ok.

If Vodafone mobile broadband is so great, then I must be one of the unlucky ones. I regularly check the speed of my connection, and never get more than 40kbps. It is SOOOO frustrating, especially as they checked my postcode on the computer before I signed up, and assured me that my area had a decent speed. I knew it wouldn't quite be the 7Mb, but expected more than 20 - 40kbps!!
