Pub introduces Wi-Fi
Posted 26th February 2009 at 12:00pm by Alex Buttle
Drinkers at the Red Lion pub in Market Rason will be able to check their emails and chat online after the introduction of wireless broadband.
The free service will be offered at the Lincolnshire establishment in the hope that lunchtime workers will be lured by the availability of internet access, reports the Market Rasen Mail.
Landlord Pete Smith introduced the idea after moving from his previous stint at the Yarbrorough pub, where the brainwave had proved popular.
He told the newspaper: "Businessmen and public alike are coming in for a coffee or a pint at lunchtime and enjoying the benefits of logging on away from the office.
"I'm bringing some of the Yarborough's successful formula and seeing what fits in Rasen to give the community something extra."
Weatherspoons pubs in London recently started providing wireless services, with Cloud hotspots in over 100 drinking spots in the capital.
