Is Avanti’s affordable satellite broadband pledge another false dawn?
Posted 5th May 2009 at 11:42am by Jonathan Leggett
For this outlay, the company promises, rural customers can expect a broadband connection of up to 2Mb. Finally, our friends and family in far-flung locales will be able to join the broadband revolution, we’re being led to believe. Better yet, they won’t be hit with the kind of punitive prices that have hitherto characterised satellite broadband.

We hope that Avanti can deliver on its promises. But given that that rival providers have made similar claims in the past only to hit customers with nigh-on ridiculous fees for installation, we’ll reserve judgement for now.
