PlusNet rings changes with home phone and broadband packages

PlusNet has revamped the telephony facets of its home phone and cheap broadband packages, as it looks to grab market share from larger, rival broadband providers.
The low-cost broadband supplier’s new Talk Anytime home telephony package will now be priced at just £5 per month as well as £10.95 line rental. This entitles users to unlimited, anytime calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers as well as 300 minutes of international calls (to top 20 destinations), including mobile phone calls to the US and Canada.
Talk Anytime also features free anytime calls to other PlusNet customers and free calls to PlusNet. Additionally, the broadband supplier is offering free voicemail and 25 per cent off standard rates to UK mobiles.
Meanwhile, the revamped Talk Evenings and Weekends deal is now free, with users paying solely for landline rental at £10.95 per month. Key features of this package include 300 minutes of international calls (to top 20 destinations), including US and Canada mobiles, as well as free calls to other PlusNet customers and customer support and a complimentary voice mail service.
Interested parties can choose to combine the Talk Evenings and Weekends deal with either the cheap broadband Value package or the Unlimited deal. PlusNet’s Value deal includes a 10GB monthly usage limit, 24/7 customer support and a free wireless router. Meanwhile, the Unlimited deal entitles buyers to unlimited usage, a free wireless four-port router, broadband firewall and a free connection. Customers who sign up for either package can expect a super fast broadband connection of up to 8Mb.
Under the new pricing plan, people who opt to take the cut-price Value deal with Talk Evenings and Weekends will benefit from one of the best-priced home phone and broadband deals on the market. For the first three months of their contract they will pay £5.99 as well as £10.95 line rental – totalling £16.94 per month. Once the three-month period has elapsed, the price reverts to £17.98 per month.
PlusNet, which has consistently scored well in customer satisfaction surveys, last week introduced an improved customer referral scheme. Customers who recommend PlusNet to a friend can now benefit from a discount up to four times larger than under the previous incentive.
