And you’ve got to hand it to them, they’re going hell-for-leather to do so. Sky, for instance, is currently offering Tiscali’s customer base £50 of credit and a free Sky+ set-top box for switching.

It’s a great offer, that’s for sure. But even if Tiscali’s clients aren’t swayed, they really can’t lose at the moment. That’s because if even they stay with TalkTalk, they’re in a line for the host of new services. Better yet, TalkTalk’s acquisition also promises to improve customer service standards.

It’s a dramatic turnaround for Tiscali subscribers. Just months ago everything looked a lot bleaker. Not least because their provider’s woes meant that they were unlikely to receive the service upgrades being enjoyed by other ISPs customers. And even with the best will in the world, it was hard to see how its consistently poor customer support was going to get better, either.

By contrast, we think they’re now some of the best-placed and luckiest UK broadband customers around.

What do you think Tiscali customers should do? Should they stay or should they go ? Should they cool it or should they blow? Tell us below in the comments section.

Now is a good time to be with Tiscali. Customers should stick around!

At the moment I pay Tiscali for a package that says "up to 8mb". I have paid for this for 10 months now and never received anywhere4 near 8mb, it's usually around .3 of a mb. Even though I have complained to Tiscali they insist on blaming everyone else for their problems and have refused to do any more to increase my speed. I only live a quarter of a mile from the local telephone exchange.
I my view Tiscali are a load of crooks and fraudsters who only want your money and are not prepared to solve any problems. I have been with Tiscali for 14 years and had no problems on the 2 mb package, but they say they can't even change me back to that package. Avoid them like the plague
