Supermarket giant Tesco is offering free laptops with a selection of its mobile broadband packages.
Internet service providers Orange and 3 are among those taking part in the deal, which is available at 50 of its in-store mobile phone outlets.
As part of one of the promotions, customers who sign up to a two-year mobile broadband connection with 3 for £29.36 per month will receive a free Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop.
Chief Executive of Tesco Mobile and Telecoms Lance Batchelor said: "We believe that mobile broadband is going to really take off in 2009 and we want to help our customers get the very best deals, making it easier than ever for them to stay connected wherever they are."
Retailer Carphone Warehouse also offers free laptops with some of its internet packages, such as the Dell Inspiron 1545 with mobile broadband from O2 for £29.38 per month.
