Tiscali unveils HD programme guide
Posted 3rd June 2009 at 12:30pm by Ewan Taylor-Gibson
Broadband and satellite television provider Tiscali has revealed its new high-definition electronic programme guide (EPG).
Due to be launched on June 10th, the update will provide a new interface for the company's TV customers and includes a number of features designed to offer easier and quicker access to live and on-demand content.
Using the EPG's new search function, viewers will be able to scan programmes for key terms in titles and credit, while the content preview pane has been enlarged to fill two thirds of the screen.
Tiscali spokesman Jonathan Sykes commented: "Our goal was to create a new EPG that had the viewer's interests at its heart."
Mr Sykes went on to say that the telecoms group wished to "make it easier and quicker for viewers to find the TV they want to watch", while also giving them the option to access content in different ways.
Tiscali UK was acquired by rival TalkTalk last month for approximately £236 million, creating the UK's largest consumer broadband operator with 4.25 million subscribers.
