Virgin Media to increase high-street presence
Posted 1st June 2009 at 9:29am by Oliver Folkard
Broadband provider Virgin Media is to increase its number of high-street retail outlets, the company has revealed.
The operator, which provides high-speed internet to millions of UK households, has already opened stores in areas such as Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester and Bromley this year.
Virgin Media hopes to triple its retail presence during 2009 and is due to open two outlets in London within the next few months.
Managing director of consumer retail Peter Taddeo said: "Families up and down the country have made our broadband, TV and mobile services central to their entertainment needs.
"This expansion will reinforce Virgin Media's presence at the heart of communities across the UK and provide a valuable contact point for existing and potential customers."
The company revealed in its first quarterly results last month that its number of broadband subscribers had risen to 3.73 million.
