Vodafone racing ahead in mobile broadband speed trials
Posted 11th June 2009 at 5:26pm by Jonathan Leggett
Already the broadband supplier with the fastest mobile broadband deals around, this year has seen the company surge ahead with a series of potential breakthroughs that promise to deliver ever-quicker speeds.
These have included trials of HSPA+ MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology, which can deliver speeds of up to 20Mb. In consumer terms that’d be classed as super-fast even for an ADSL product.

Just weeks before we’d seen the ISP unveil the world’s first HSPA+ USB modem stick at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona – a device that could send mobile broadband speeds up to a whopping 28MB.
We’re not sure what that equates to in miles per hour. But we’re certain that young Lewis could do with a bit of Voda’s fleet-footedness right now.
