ISP PlusNet to sponsor ITV London Weather
Posted 23rd July 2009 at 4:37pm by Oliver Folkard
Internet service provider PlusNet has signed a new deal with terrestrial TV broadcaster ITV to increase the exposure of its broadband service.
From tomorrow (July 24th), the broadband supplier will embark upon a new campaign as the sponsor immediately before and after the ITV London Weather.
The company will run a series of idents until December for what Marketing Magazine reports is its biggest brand awareness campaign to date.
PlusNet has released a video of the first animated ident - it shows a series of rainclouds gathering over the London cityscape in an internet browser with the company's URL typed into the address bar.
A computer mouse pointer then drags the clouds into a recycle bin in the bottom corner to reveal a shining sun before the PlusNet logo appears in the centre of the screen.
Earlier this month, the broadband provider announced record levels of BBC iPlayer traffic as a result of tennis star Andrew Murray's performances at Wimbledon.
