Virgin Media seals rights to True Blood

Arriving in a blaze of publicity, including a cover feature in the Guardian Guide at the weekend, the show is the brainchild of Six Feet Under creator and American Beauty writer Alan Ball and will run on the FX channel. It's beyond my ken to see how it'll be anything other than outstanding.

But if quality HBO drama doesn’t float your boat, there’s a surfeit of other great stuff too. Also coming to Virgin Media is the MTV Network's International’s HD channel, MTVNHD, which screens classic Unplugged live turns from the likes of Nirvana as well as exclusive live broadcasts of concerts.
But perhaps the jewel in the crown is the arrival of the National Geographic channel in HD, whose natural world documentaries I can assure you look twice as eye-popping in high definition.
