BeyonDSL has announced the launch of new, cheaper satellite broadband packages.
The new ASTRA2Connect service offers always-on two-way broadband access for flat service fees while the equipment needed by consumers, including a dish, mount and a modem, is £299.99.
A range of packages are available, varying from 156Kb for £17.49 a month to 2Mb with a data quota at £34.99.
With a small add-on fee, the dish can also be used to receive satellite television, BeyonDSL confirmed.
The broadband provider unveiled its ASTRA2Connect services following the publication of the Digital Britain report last month.
As noted by the company, Lord Carter's report highlighted how satellite technology could be used to help deliver 2Mb broadband to many people in the UK, particularly those who cannot have an ADSL connection.
Michael Locke, Managing Director of BeyonDSL, commented: "Thanks to the new ASTRA2Connect packages, dial-up homes can now switch to satellite for a very similar monthly cost."
