Dell breaks cover with thinnest ever laptop
Posted 9th October 2009 at 2:29pm by Jonathan Leggett
Priced about £350, the Inspiron 11z is just 25.8mm thick and weighs in at 1.4kg. Pretty compact, I’m sure you’ll agree. And it’s an impressive looking beast, too, whether you get it in Obsidian Black, Alpine White, Flamingo Pink, New Cherry Red, Ice Blue, Jade Green or the fragrant-sounding Passion Purple.

Dell new laptop's specs don’t disappoint either. In keeping with the company's proclaimed mission to combine the "portability of a netbook with the capability of a laptop", the 11z boasts Windows Vista Basic, a 1.3GHz Intel Celeron CPU, 1.3 megapixel webcam and 4GB memory.
No news on Dell’s device appearing on mobile broadband deals yet. But given the attractive price point, it’s surely only a matter time. And, natch, we’ll keep you informed as and when we hear anything…
Sold on the Inspiron? If why not, why not? Let us know in the comments section below.
