Eclipse praises technical team over England broadcast
Posted 13th October 2009 at 10:59am by Ewan Taylor-Gibson
Eclipse Internet has given its technical support team a pat on the back for its efforts to ensure England fans could watch the team's recent game online without any problems.
As well as calling on its subscribers to use its optimisation tool to ensure their connections held up during the World Cup qualifier, the company's experts worked extended hours to monitor network performance throughout the match.
The firm was also in contact with online sports broadcaster Perform to ensure it was fully aware of any problems which could have arisen.
Clodagh Murphy, Director of Eclipse, said: "I would like to thank the Eclipse team for all their efforts to ensure that our network and customers were prepared for the England match."
Perform recently described the broadcast of the qualifier as "extremely successful", claiming that a post-match survey revealed that 89 per cent of people would happily watch another live sports event online in the future.
