Virgin Media prepping UK MiFi mobile broadband offering?
Posted 13th October 2009 at 12:35pm by Jonathan Leggett
Currently, the sole UK broadband provider with a MiFi product is 3. However, T-Mobile has recently signed a deal with Carphone Warehouse to offer its MiFi deals imminently.

Vodafone is also believed to be planning to bring its MiFi to the UK before Christmas. And with reports surfacing today that the independently-run Australian company Virgin Mobile is launching a MiFi, it now looks increasingly likely that Virgin Media will join them.
The Virgin Mobile-branded MiFi is manufactured by Huawei and is capable of delivering an internet connection to up to three users simultaneously - provided they are within 15 metres of the device.
It’s initially only available on pre-paid mobile broadband plans through local retailer Dick Smith Electronics, with buyers paying $199 for the gadget and 1GB of usage. They can then add further credit on a pay as you go basis. Should Virgin Media go ahead with a UK version, however, we fancy that contract deals would almost certainly be available too.
