Super-fast broadband services are being supplied to businesses on Hereford's Rotherwas estate thanks to a new scheme.

The £20 million Rotherwas Futures Project, a joint venture between Herefordshire Council and Advantage West Midlands, is set to ensure that a range of broadband services are available to the business park.

Airband Community Internet is expected to provide wireless broadband services at the location, with connections of up to 20Mb set to be launched.

Councillor Adrian Blackshaw, the council's cabinet member for economic development and community services, said the services would be key to attracting new businesses to the area.

He added: "At last Herefordshire businesses have access to the sort of broadband service that metropolitan businesses take for granted."

Last week, it was confirmed that the Pathfinder North Broadband scheme across the Scottish Highlands has been completed.

The project has seen super-fast connections provided to over 800 schools, libraries and council buildings.

So, is that why our broadband speed has been dropped down so badly? Why this council is so useless?

Why they are not pushing BT to improve speed for us, private customers? Do we not pay enough in taxes?

I wish I can swear online. I just can't understand this: we all pay a lot for nothing!!!
