MiFi broadband device scoops mobile industry award

Technology solutions provider Novatel is celebrating after its MiFi Intelligence Mobile Hotspot was given a major industry award.
The product was named Best Mobile Connected Device at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards, which is held to recognise excellence and innovation in the communications industry across the globe.
According to Novatel, the system is an "intelligent, open platform" that can host advanced software applications.
Rob Hadley, Chief Marketing Officer of Novatel Wireless, said: "As we continue to expand the capabilities of our product line, this recognition validates our ongoing commitment to developing the most advanced connectivity solutions in the market."
MiFi technology produces a personal cloud that allows up to five Wi-Fi devices to share the same single connection.
Broadband provider 3 offers MiFi services in the UK on both pay monthly and pay-as-you-go deals.
The firm also offers a bundle which sees its MiFi solution combined with an iPod Touch for £23 a month.
