Orange extends cheaper broadband bundle
Posted 15th February 2010 at 2:58pm by Oliver Folkard
Subscribers to Orange's mobile broadband services can now take advantage of a cheap roaming data rate, it has been announced.
The broadband provider has revealed that the daily rate of 2 (£1.73) for 2MB, which was originally launched in Spain and Romania, is now open to customers in countries including the UK, France and Poland.
According to ZDNet, the move means that customers can be charged £3 per MB unless they opt into a daily bundle, which vary from the new rate to £8.50 for 50MB.
Yves Maitre, the head of Orange's devices division, said the new 2 rate would help many consumers avoid "bill shock", when checking their charges after time spent abroad.
At the start of this month, research by independent market intelligence body YouGov named Orange as the top mobile broadband provider in the UK.
The company's service topped nine categories including upload speed and ease of use.

And it's still too expensive for anything other than basic tasks. Downloads would cost you an arm and a leg.

If you get bt broadband even on the cheapest package they give you 250mins of wireless minutes where you can login to BT WIFI points around the world. You can access them off a lappy, ipod or wifi mobile free of charge. Much better value than the rip off prices above
