TalkTalk committed to Project Canvas bundle plans
Posted 21st July 2010 at 2:35pm by Oliver Folkard
Project Canvas services could still be offered as part of TalkTalk's broadband TV deals, the provider has suggested.
According to ISPreview.co.uk, some doubts had arisen over whether such plans were still possible, particularly due to the BBC Trust's conditional approval that access would not be offered with other services.
However, in a statement to the website, TalkTalk has outlined that internet service providers (ISPs) will have an option to offer a Canvas set-top box with broadband access.
"The BBC Trust's stated condition that access to Canvas will not be bundled with other products or services means that people are not tied to a particular ISP connection to access Canvas and do not have to take an ISP bundle if they choose not to," the firm added.
TalkTalk originally signed up to Project Canvas alongside Channel 4 in December last year.
Other partners in the venture include ITV, the BBC and BT.
