Internet service provider (ISP) BT is claiming to offer cheaper line rental prices than all of its major rivals.

In a new ad taken out in the Metro newspaper, the broadband provider explained that its Line Rental Saver option allows customers to pay just £9.49 per month.

This is possible when subscribers pay the full annual bill a year in advance, BT explained.

According to the ISP, consumers signing up for broadband bundles with Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk are all required to pay more to be hooked up to a landline connection.

The cut-price line rental offer is set to run until October 29th, with BT hoping this is ample time for web users to switch to its services.

BT is also currently offering three months free on its Total Broadband and unlimited calls package, with this deal running until September 17th.
