UK broadband take-up rates 'higher than France, Germany and US'

The popularity of broadband services remains high in the UK, a new study conducted by BT indicates.
According to the internet service provider, domestic adoption rates are some of the highest in the western world, beating those in a number of other highly-connected nations.
While the UK has previously come under fire over the average connection speed available, a higher proportion of the population have subscribed to broadband deals than in the US, France and Germany, BT says.
The ISP noted that the UK also boasts one of the best broadband availability figures in the world.
Some 99 per cent of homes are now able to access to broadband, a higher percentage than achieved in France, Germany or Italy.
BT Strategy Director Olivia Garfield said that download speeds aside, the UK is a world leader in broadband technology.
Earlier this week, BT announced that 15 million UK households now use its nationwide broadband infrastructure to access the internet.
