UK broadband provider Zen Internet has announced a new range of consumer and business web packages.

The internet service provider (ISP) has launched four new fibre-optic broadband deals, capable of up to 40Mb downloads.

Zen Fibre Active, the cheapest of the broadband packages, offers a minimum speed of 8Mb downstream, up to 2Mb uploads and 50GB of monthly data use for £30 per month on a one-year deal.

Fibre Pro offers a 100GB usage allowance for £38 per month, while Fibre Office and Fibre Office Plus – which offers 12Mb minimum downloads and up to 10Mb uploads – provide 200GB per month and 500GB per month for £55 and £65 respectively.

Andrew Saunders, Zen's Head of Product Management and Marketing, claimed that the impact of the introduction of the new fibre optic broadband service will be "revolutionary" for both business and residential users.

"Small and medium businesses stand to benefit most with fibre-optic broadband providing high-speed bandwidth that was previously only available through expensive lease line solutions, that were the preserve of larger organisations," he told

The ISP recently introduced its own telephone line services, which are available from £10.99 per month.
