Fast.co.uk has joined forces with Equiinet to provide a range of new secure connectivity solutions for primary schools in the UK.

The broadband provider and communications device manufacturer will use their respective expertise to deliver top-end security tools in the education sector, enabling pupils to use the internet securely in the classroom.

Costing around £120 per month, the service will include a broadband connection, internet filtering, advanced firewall security and caching.

Subscribers will also be able to take advantage of online services such as internet activity reporting, data backup and VoIP.

Keith Baker, Equiinet's Managing Director, explained that his firm had been approached by Fast.co.uk to create a new device targeted specifically at primary schools.

"I am sure the combination of their extensive high-speed broadband offerings coupled with our security and caching technology will provide a very cost-effective and capable package," he stated.

"We had heard excellent reviews regarding Fast's service provision and support – schools will find them a knowledgeable and professional company to deal with."
