TalkTalk has become the latest broadband provider to launch student broadband deals in time for the new university year.
The firm is offering significant discounts on its TalkTalk Essentials broadband package to people living in student households.
Subscribers can pay just £3.25 for the first nine months of their one-year contract, saving almost £30 in the process.
For the final three months of the deal, the price reverts to the standard £6.50 per month.
A free installation worth £30 adds to the savings possible for student customers, while a free wireless broadband router is also included.
TalkTalk Essentials – the firm's entry-level broadband deal - offers up to 24Mb download speeds, and a 40GB monthly usage allowance.
Subscribers also benefit from unlimited evening and weekend calls to UK numbers, although a £12.60 per month line rental fee applies.
Students have around six weeks to take advantage of the broadband deal, which is scheduled to be withdrawn on September 27th.
Earlier this week, Virgin Media launched its own range of student broadband deals, which are available on nine-month contracts.
The broadband packages are available from £21 per month, and can be taken with home phone and digital TV services.
And Plusnet took the opportunity to remind subscribers about its own broadband deals, which are available on a non-contract basis.
As a result, students are able to cancel their broadband services as soon as they move out of their rented accommodation at the end of the academic year.
