Plusnet news

Plusnet has been named Best Consumer Fixed Broadband Provider 2012 at the Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) annual awards in London.

The Yorkshire-based broadband provider fended off competition from a number of industry rivals to earn the prestigious accolade.

The ISPA judging panel said it was impressed by Plusnet’s flexibility, good range of services, ten-day cancellation option and pre-configured routers.

Value for money was also cited as being another major positive for the broadband provider, which delivers services using BT's wholesale network.

Plusnet, which had been up for five awards at the ISPA ceremony, announced its triumph on micro blogging website Twitter.

"Woohoo! 'Best Consumer Fixed Broadband' goes to yours truly!" the firm tweeted.

Nicholas Lansman, ISPA Secretary General, congratulated all the winners and thanked the attendees and sponsors for making the awards possible.

"It’s been another important and fast-moving 12 months for the internet industry, and the awards are a good measure of achievement and innovation in the past year," he stated.
