The launch of 4G mobile broadband services will give tablet users a wider range of working options, it has been claimed.

Marc Benioff, Chief Executive of Salesforce, explained that businesspeople will be able to do much more with their mobile handsets.

As reported by Computing, he said it will be possible to run an entire company from a connected iPad or other tablet computer.

"We are going to be moving into a long-term evolution (LTE) world, when you have an iPad with LTE, you are more than able to run your whole enterprise on these services," Mr Benioff stated.

He said this is "exciting" for businesspeople, who are increasingly looking to identify more effective ways of working.

EE is to launch 4G mobile services using its existing 1,800MHz spectrum on October 30th 2012.

Ofcom is also bringing forward the auction of 800MHz and 2.6GHz spectrum, which will allow other providers to launch rival services by spring 2013.
