Sky Sports has announced plans to increase its coverage of women's sport, with a new deal for live netball and a weekly 30-minute magazine programme.

The deal with England Netball will see the broadcaster show all 12 rounds of the Netball Superleague, as well as all home England international fixtures.

And the new programme 'Sportswomen', which will show news, views and analysis from the world of women’s sport, will air each week on Sky Sports News and Sky Sports.

In addition, Sky Sports is to show exclusive coverage of the 2013 Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards.

Barney Francis, Managing Director of Sky Sports, said the latest announcements reinforce the broadcaster's "unrivalled commitment" to women's sport, on-screen and off.

"Sky Sports is watched by six million women every month and we already show women's sport across more than 200 days of our calendar," he stated.

"Bringing more world class netball and our own bespoke 'Sportswomen' programme to our schedule will add even more content for our viewers."
