TalkTalk has unveiled a "slick" new TalkTalk Player, which will be the home of on-demand movies and entertainment on its YouView-based TV service.

The new player will also house the service provider's movie rental service - TalkTalk Box Office - which offers many of the leading blockbusters to rent.

The addition of an 'Included Channels' feature allows TalkTalk TV users to browse the entire library of films and on-demand programmes, with all pricing information clearly marked.

All live channels included within the additional flexible monthly Boosts, and the seven additional Sky channels in the Plus TV package, can now be found in the YouView guide from channel 401 onwards.

Other features of the revamped TalkTalk Player include 'Watchlist' - which allows viewers to save films and shows to watch at another time - 'More like this' - which finds similar content to your favourite shows - and 'Play all' - which plays every episode in a series back-to-back.

The rollout of the new TalkTalk Player features is underway, and all one million TalkTalk TV homes will have full access by June 17th.

Henrik Karlberg, Head of Pay TV at TalkTalk, said his firm is making it easier for viewers to discover all the channels and movies included in their package.

"To access the new TalkTalk Player, customers simply have to connect their YouView box to their router and ensure it is either ‘on’ or on ‘standby’," he explained.

"Once connected customers, can press the ‘TalkTalk’ button on the remote control to start enjoying the service."

Mr Karlberg said he is "extremely proud" that TalkTalk is bringing more of the latest movies, hit shows and better functionality to its YouView TV customers.

"Our TV service just keeps getting better and better," he stated.
