Great news for Sky Sports subscribers: they are to gain an additional channel, dedicated to European and international football, this week.
Sky Sports 5 launches on Thursday June 12th, meaning customers will have even more viewing options for live soccer.
The channel will show up to 600 European matches next season, featuring many of the top players and teams, competing in some of the world's best competitions.
Sky Sports 5 - which becomes the seventh channel in the Sky Sports package - will be the dedicated home for UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers, the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Coppa Italia and Copa del Rey.
Viewers will be able to see the top Barclays Premier League teams in action in Europe's top club competition, and also enjoy huge games such as El Clásico - Barcelona v Real Madrid - and the top cup clashes from Italy.
The new channel will also show European football programming including 'Revista De La Liga' and 'Champions League Weekly'.
And for the first time in 2014-15, Sky Sports is to offer live coverage of the Dutch top-flight. Eredivisie games will air on Sky Sports 5 for at least the next four seasons.
This means viewers will be able to watch the Netherlands' top teams - including Ajax, Feyenoord, FC Twente and PSV Eindhoven - in action every weekend.
Barney Francis, Managing Director of Sky Sports, said the new channel takes his firm's "unrivalled live football coverage" to the next level.
From next season, Sky Sports will offer more European football than ever before, he explained. "There’s never been a better time to be a Sky Sports customer."
Sky Ambassador David Beckham said he would be "gripped" by the European football action set to air on Sky Sports 5.
"Some of my greatest playing moments were on the European stage with Manchester United, playing in El Clasico for Real Madrid and captaining England in Euro qualifiers," he stated.
"Sky Sports 5 will offer all the drama and excitement that European football has to offer."
