BT Sport viewers can see Louis van Gaal's first competitive game in charge of Manchester United this Saturday (August 16th) at home to Swansea City.

United fans have high hopes for the coming season, after a disappointing 2013-14 campaign under David Moyes - who was sacked in April.

The Red Devils finished seventh in the Barclays Premier League, 22 points behind city rivals Manchester City, and missed out on European qualification.

With a high profile manager in place, and new signings Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera onboard, United are expected to be more competitive this season.

All eyes will be on Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime - kick-off is at 12:45pm - to see if the 20-time champions can get 2014-15 off to the best possible start.

Swansea manager Gary Monk has made a number of additions to his squad this summer, including Ecuador winger Jefferson Montero and former Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

But the Welsh side go into their season opener as the underdogs - as most sides do when heading to Old Trafford.

TV viewers can watch the game exclusively live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport HD 1.

Manchester United v Swansea City is the first of 38 live matches from the Barclays Premier League to be broadcast on BT Sport this season.

Next up is Aston Villa v Newcastle United at 12:45 on Saturday August 23rd.

BT Sport is available on a subscription basis, although all BT broadband customers have free access to the pay-TV service.

If they have a BT TV package, the channels are available via their Vision+ or YouView set-top box.

BT customers who do not take the firm's television services can watch BT Sport content online and via the BT Sport app.
