The Enviroplug is an energy-saving adapter that cuts the power to your mobile phone charger when the battery is full or your phone isn’t connected.
What does the Enviroplug do?
The Enviroplug is designed to stop you from wasting energy when charging your mobile phone.
You plug your phone charger into the Enviroplug and it detects when your battery is full or your mobile isn’t connected and shuts off the power accordingly.

How much could the Enviroplug save you?
If you use a typical mobile phone charger and you leave it plugged in and turned on all the time, you could cut the amount of electricity it uses by up to 90%.
That’s enough power to watch TV for 19 days or boil a kettle more than 100 times.
How is this saving calculated?
If you charge your phone overnight, it will be charged in an hour or so and then left connected unnecessarily for a further seven hours. Many people leave their phone charger plugged in and switched on all the time too. So your charger could be using:
2 watts an hour for 1 hour when charging;
2 watts an hour for 7 hours when the battery is full, but still connected to the charger;
1.5 watts an hour for 16 hours when the charger is still plugged in and turned on but not connected to a phone.
Over a year, this adds up to 14.6 kWh.
When you use an Enviroplug, a typical charger will use:
2.8 watts an hour for 1 hour when charging (a little more than with a charger alone);
0.05 watts an hour for 7 hours when the battery is full, but still connected to the charger;
0.05 watts an hour for 16 hours when the charger is still plugged in and turned on but not connected to a phone.
Over a year, this adds up to just 1.46 kWh – a 90% saving.
The 13.14 KWh you save is equivalent to more than 19 days typical use of a 32” LCD TV (4 hours a day, 170W TV) or boiling a kettle more than 100 times (1500W kettle taking 5 minutes to boil).

Can I use it with other products/devices?
No – the Enviroplug is only for use with mobile phone chargers.
How do I use it?
Plug the Enviroplug into the wall socket and plug the charger into the adapter. The green LED will come on.
When the battery is full, or the mobile is disconnected from the charger, the Enviroplug cuts all power to the charger and the LED will flash red.
If the mobile is not disconnected from the charger, the Enviroplug will automatically cut the power after three hours.
To reset, unplug the Enviroplug, or turn power off and on again at the wall.
To override the Enviroplug, turn it on, off and on again.
The LED will light red continuously and the power will be supplied to the mobile without monitoring or timed cut off.
To reset for normal use, turn the power off, wait five seconds and turn on again.

Will it cut my carbon footprint?
Probably not. Despite the energy you’ll save by using this product, this is unlikely to be enough to cover the amount of carbon produced in manufacturing and shipping it.

Return Policy:
If you change your mind about buying a Product, you may cancel the purchase or return the item after you place your order at any time until the expiry of thirty days after you receive the Products (the “Cooling-Off Period”). In this case, you will receive a full refund of the price paid for the Products in accordance with our refunds policy set out below. You must return the Product to us in the original packing and in new and unused condition so that we receive it within thirty days after you cancel the contract. All products must be returned in original (new) condition and in original packaging.
If you receive Products which are faulty on arrival or are not what you ordered then we shall, at our option replace or repair any damaged, defective or incorrect products, or refund to you the amount you paid for the goods in question PROVIDED THAT you notify us of the problem in writing at sales@uswitch.com within 3 working days of delivery of the Products.
To cancel any contract or order, you must inform us in writing by email to sales@uswitch.com and we will send you instructions on how to return the order. If your order has not shipped yet and we are able to stop the shipment, there will be no charges; please note, the cancellation is effective when you receive notice from us of cancellation, after you send your request for cancellation. If you have received your order, you must return the Product in the same condition in which you received it and you are liable for all costs associated with returning the Product. We can normally arrange to pickup the item but there will be a charge for this service. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the Products while they are in your possession. If you fail to take reasonable care of any Products and do not return them to us in their original condition, we may have a right to seek compensation from you for any loss of, or damage to, the Product, including a partial refund, or no refund.
We will usually refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. The refund will occur after the product has been inspected, as soon as possible, and in any case within 30 days of the day we have received your return.
Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights.
