What does the Freeloader Pico do?
The Freeloader Pico is a very compact and lightweight portable solar charger that means you can recharge your gadgets for free using the power of the sun.
A choice of four different connector tips, including a USB charge/sync cable means it can charge almost anything, including your:
mobile phone (Nokia, Blackberry, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and more)

How long does it take to charge?
To charge the Freeloader Pico by the sun takes 10 hours, or by USB takes 3 hours. The amount of light can make a difference to how long it takes to charge. For example, if your Freeloader Pico was behind a window in sunny conditions, it would take up to three days to fully charge, or in cloudy conditions, it would take about two days.
It also takes 30 minutes to deliver power from the Pico to your device.
How long does the power last for?
A full charge will power a mobile phone for 35 hours, and iPod for 14 hours, a GPS device for 1.5 hours or an MP3 player for 2.25 hours.
What can I charge with Freeloader Pico?
In the pack, you get:
an adaptor for Nokia phones
an adaptor for Samsung mobile phones
an adaptor for all Sony Ericsson phones
a mini USB adaptor for Motorola and Blackberry phones, most smartphones, Garmin/Sat Map and most GPS, bluetooth headsets, PDAs etc.
the Master Cable, which is used for both charging Freeloader Pico’s internal battery from a connection to a computer’s USB (using the mini USB adaptor) and also for delivering power from Freeloader Pico to charge a device.
Can I charge my Freeloader Pico from the sun while powering a device at the same time?
No. If Freeloader Pico is empty you will not be able to simultaneously charge and deliver power, because Freeloader Pico delivers power to a device approximately 10 times quicker than its solar cell can charge up its internal battery.
Can I leave Freeloader Pico out in the rain?
No, the solar cell would probably be fine, but the water could damage the battery and circuit board.
How do I connect and charge a device not supported by the adaptor tips included in this pack?
If the device was originally supplied with a USB charge cable (most devices are) connect this to your device and to Freeloader Pico via the Power Out socket.
You may also be able to order a special tip for your device from the manufacturer, Freeloader.
I have a device that can be charged via my computer’s USB port – can Freeloader Pico charge it?
Yes, the Freeloader Pico should be able to charge it.
Can I charge a laptop computer or notebook?
No, Freeloader Pico is not powerful enough to charge a laptop. If a device has a voltage demand under 5V then Freeloader Pico should be able to charge it.
Will it cut my carbon footprint?
Probably not. Despite the carbon you’ll save by using solar power, this is unlikely to be enough to cover the smount of carbon produced in manufacturing and shipping the product.

Return Policy:
If you change your mind about buying a Product, you may cancel the purchase or return the item after you place your order at any time until the expiry of thirty days after you receive the Products (the “Cooling-Off Period”). In this case, you will receive a full refund of the price paid for the Products in accordance with our refunds policy set out below. You must return the Product to us in the original packing and in new and unused condition so that we receive it within thirty days after you cancel the contract. All products must be returned in original (new) condition and in original packaging.
If you receive Products which are faulty on arrival or are not what you ordered then we shall, at our option replace or repair any damaged, defective or incorrect products, or refund to you the amount you paid for the goods in question PROVIDED THAT you notify us of the problem in writing at sales@uswitch.com within 3 working days of delivery of the Products.
To cancel any contract or order, you must inform us in writing by email to sales@uswitch.com and we will send you instructions on how to return the order. If your order has not shipped yet and we are able to stop the shipment, there will be no charges; please note, the cancellation is effective when you receive notice from us of cancellation, after you send your request for cancellation. If you have received your order, you must return the Product in the same condition in which you received it and you are liable for all costs associated with returning the Product. We can normally arrange to pickup the item but there will be a charge for this service. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the Products while they are in your possession. If you fail to take reasonable care of any Products and do not return them to us in their original condition, we may have a right to seek compensation from you for any loss of, or damage to, the Product, including a partial refund, or no refund.
We will usually refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. The refund will occur after the product has been inspected, as soon as possible, and in any case within 30 days of the day we have received your return.
Nothing in this clause affects your statutory rights.
