Who deals with the gas and electricity suppliers?

We do the work so you don’t have to
We deal with your new supplier on your behalf, and they contact your old supplier to organise the switch.
Switch on to change with uSwitch
You don’t have to worry about contacting your suppliers. When you confirm your switch, we pass your details onto your new supplier and they look after everything. They will contact your old supplier to arrange a switch date. Your new supplier will contact you to ask for your meter reading. They give this to your old supplier, so that your final bill can be arranged.
Changes to your bill
Your old supplier will send you a final bill, which covers you up until your switch date. Then, your new supplier will take over and you will start receiving bills from them. That’s the only change you will notice. Your supply will not be affected.
If you pay by Direct Debit
You will need to contact your bank to cancel your Direct Debit to your old supplier once you have made your final payment.
If you want to pay your new supplier by Direct Debit, we take your banking details when you switch online. Your new supplier then sets up your payment for you.
If you’re on a fixed or capped price plan
A fixed or capped plan means your unit rate is locked in for a certain amount of time, such as two years. You are able to switch your plan, but may have to pay a cancellation fee to your old supplier. Check the conditions of your plan to see if you are liable. Your old supplier will add this to your final bill.
