npower has announced a price decrease of 5% on its gas bills
This means the average annual standard dual fuel bill will fall by £39 from £133 on to an average annual standard dual fuel bill, which will increase from £1,282 to £1,483.
Ann Robinson, Director of Consumer Policy at uSwitch.com, says:"We welcome the fact that npower will bring its cut into effect on the 1st February, but consumers can carry out their own price cut by shopping around for a cheaper deal and reducing the amount of energy they use by being more energy efficient now. Moving to a dual fuel plan, paying by direct debit and signing up to a competitively priced deal will save you up to £420[4] - far more than today's price cut. "
