Uswitch comments on Natwest online banking glitch

Commenting on the latest NatWest online banking glitch leaving thousands unable to access their account online, Nicolas Frankcom, money expert at Uswitch.com, says: “The end of the month means payday for most of us, but NatWest customers who rely on online banking to make payments and transfers have been left high and dry. This is happening just six weeks after the RBS Group glitch that affected 600,000 transfers. Young people will be particularly affected as our research shows over three quarters depend on online banking and two thirds use a banking app.

“For those NatWest customers who don’t have direct debits and are due to make an online payment today, it’s worth contacting the company or person you’re paying about the issue to avoid late payments fees. This is especially important with credit card, loan, rent or mortgage repayments to avoid risking a black mark on your credit report.”
